Friend Tech Pharmacy POS

Friend Tech Pharmacy POS is a point of sale and stock system designed specifically for pharmacies. General retail POS software often lacks the controls pharmacies rely on, such as tracking batches and expiry dates or searching by both trade and generic names. This product is being built to address those needs for independent pharmacies and small pharmacy groups in Bahrain.
Current status
Friend Tech Pharmacy POS is currently in development and is not yet available as a finished product. Pharmacies can discuss early adoption or a tailored implementation adapted to their product range, branches and working procedures.
Designed for the pharmacy counter
The sales screen is planned to support quick search by trade name, generic name or barcode, with the system selecting stock from the batch that expires first. Staff should be able to see available quantities across branches, which helps when a customer asks whether another location has an item.
Batch, expiry and purchasing control
Stock is intended to be recorded by batch number and expiry date when goods are received. Reports and alerts are planned for items approaching expiry, so they can be returned or handled before they become a loss. Purchasing features are designed to track supplier orders, deliveries and reorder levels.
Compliance-aware, not compliance-certified
Receipts and invoices are being designed to support Bahrain's 10% VAT invoicing requirements, including items that may be zero-rated or treated differently. User permissions help restrict sensitive actions such as price changes and stock adjustments. Pharmacies remain responsible for meeting health authority and tax requirements, and should confirm these with the relevant authority or a qualified advisor.
